What's New – March 17, 2013

The following features were introduced or enhanced in Agile Manager:

Multiple Application Support

You can now manage multiple applications in Agile Manager, and manage them in a unified backlog. Defining multiple applications enables you to plan work on composite or parallel applications in the same project simultaneously. Agile Manager provides you with various analysis tools to monitor the work on applications.

For more details, see Work with applications.

Group Stories

When you break a user story into parts, the original story is now converted into a group story that contains the new user stories. You can continue to break the new user story into lower-level parts. These are all maintained under the same hierarchy as the original user story.

You can view group stories and drill down to their children in a new Group Stories View on the Product Backlog > Backlog page. The complete backlog of user stories and defects is displayed in the Backlog View.

For more details, see Create a group story.

Export Backlogs to File

You can export the contents of a grid to an Excel or CSV file. On any of the backlog pages, select columns and set a filter according to your needs. Then select More Actions > Export Backlog to Excel or Export Backlog to CSV.

Import Backlog

  • You can now specify additional fields in the import files for user stories and defects: Release, Sprint, Team, Application. These fields are added to the template files.
  • Use the Release, Sprint and Team fields to import an item directly to a release, sprint and team backlog.
  • Use the Application field to associate a feature with an application.

For more details, see Import backlog items.

Track Feature and Theme Progress

On the Features and Themes pages, you can track feature and theme progress in specific releases. Select the Releases column, and specify the releases you want to track.

In addition, on the Themes page, you can track the progress of themes for specific applications. Select the Applications column, and specify the applications you want to track.

Feature and Theme Ranking

Ranking is now enabled for features and themes, as well as backlog items.

Universal Add Item Dialog Box

Using the Add New Item dialog box, you can now create an entire hierarchy of themes, features and users stories without leaving the dialog box. You can open the dialog box from the Themes, Features or Backlog pages.

To specify the type of item you want create, select a value in the Type box.

Set a Backlog Item to Done

Previously, you could configure whether non-passed acceptance tests would keep backlog items open. Now, you can configure whether open linked defects will prevent you from closing a backlog item.

ALI: Connect change sets to tasks
