Quality Insight window
This window enables you to perform the following actions:

Manage KPI cards in the Executive Dashboard tab to monitor the performance of the projects you are working on.

Search for records on one or multiple projects in the Global Search tab.
Note : You can access the window as long as you have the view permission to any projects.
Executive Dashboard tab
The Quality Insight page, Executive Dashboard tab enables you to create and manage your KPI cards so as to measure how your team or organization is progressing towards the business objectives.

User interface elements of this tab are described below:

Enters the edit mode of the dashboard, enabling you to manage dashboard cards and indicators for the dashboard. |

Refreshes the dashboard cards. |

Opens a dialog box that enables you to select a project whose data you want to synchronize from ALM to Quality Insight. Available to site administrators only. For details, see Rebuild dashboard cards . |

Enters the full screen mode. |
|
Available in the edit mode. Opens the Add Card window that allows you to create a quantity card. See Add quantity cards. Click the down arrow to display the following options:

Available in the edit mode. Exits the edit mode and enters the view mode of the dashboard. |

Available in the edit mode. Opens the Indicator window, enabling you to define indicators and thresholds for the dashboard. For details, see Define indicators. |

Available in the edit mode. Click Visible to show all visible cards, or Invisible to show all invisible cards. |
Global Search tab
The Quality Insight page, Global Search tab enables you to search for records on one or multiple projects. The following ALM modules are supported: Defects, Requirements, Test Plan, Test Lab, and Analysis items.

Global Search is only available if Quality Insight has been enabled for the project. Contact your ALM site administrator if the global search option is unavailable. |

Enables you to select the projects for inclusion in your search results. Éditions d’ALM : Cross projects search is not available for Quality Center Enterprise Edition, Quality Center Community Edition, or Quality Center Express Edition. Enables you define conditions for filtering. To define a filter:

Searches for the specified keywords. |

Limits the search to a specific time period. Possible values: Past 24 hours, Past week, Past month, Past year, All time, and Custom. |
Global Search tips
You can use symbols and operators to refine your search query.

Add a question mark as a placeholder for a single character. Example: The query BU? returns items such as BUG, BUS, BUY etc. |

Add an asterisk as a placeholder for any unknown or wildcard terms. Example: The query AL* returns items such as ALM, Alert, All, etc. |

Add quotation marks to search for an exact phrase. Example: The query "flight reservation" returns items that contain the exact phrase. |

The term following the NOT / - / ! operator will be excluded from the results. Example: (The NOT operator must be in capital letters.) or

Use the OR operator between two words to search for content that contains either word. Example:
(The OR operator must be in capital letters.) or

| AND / && |
Use AND to search for results that include all terms. Note that the AND operator must be in capital letters. Example: (The AND operator must be in capital letters.) or
The query returns all items that contain both the word qc and the word alm. |
| Grouping |
Use parentheses to group search terms in clauses. This can be very useful if you want to control the Boolean logic for a query. Example: or
The query returns items that contain mercury or tours, and include reservation. |
| < |
To search for values less than the value specified. Used only with numeric values. Example: |

To search for values greater than the value specified. Used only with numeric values. Example: |
| Escaping Special Characters |
Global Search supports escaping special characters that are part of the query syntax. The special characters are + - && || ! ( ) { } [ ] ^ " ~ * ? : \ To escape a character use a backslash “\” before the character. Example: To search for (1+1):2, type |
