In the Test Plan module, in the Test Script tab, select the flow in which you want to insert learned components. Click .

The Learn Wizard contains:

This wizard is available to BPT Packaged Apps Kit users with a flow or business process test selected.

This wizard is not available when:

• BPT Packaged Apps Kit is not enabled for the current project. Access to BPT Packaged Apps Kit must be provided by your Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Project Administrator using Project Customization. An administrator can enable BPT Packaged Apps Kit in ALM by clicking and selecting Customize > Business Process Test, then selecting the Enable BPT Packaged Apps Kit check box.
• You do not have the correct permissions to learn, For details on the permissions needed to learn, see How to Learn Flows and Business Process Tests, or see the Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management Administrator Guide: Managing User Groups and Permissions.

As you perform actions, the Learn toolbar provides a count of the number of steps performed in the application.

How to Learn Flows and Business Process Tests

In the title bar, indicates the number of screens learned during the Learn process.

Available when: BPT Packaged Apps Kit is learning a flow or test.

Stop Learn. Stops learning the actions in the packaged app.

Pause. Pauses or resumes learning. When the Learn process is paused, the button has a gray background, and any actions you perform on your app are not learned. To resume learning actions, click the Pause button again.

Component. Name of the component to learn. You can switch to a different existing component to re-learn it. You can also edit the name to create a new compoent.

Recording Mode. Choose the type of recording you want to use, such as normal, analog, and Insight.

Snapshot. Take a snapshot of the app. For details, see the information about snapshots in theUnified Functional Testing User Guide.

Insert Checkpoint or Output Value. Inserts a standard checkpoint or a standard output value into the automated component by choosing one of the standard options from the drop-down list.

• A checkpoint is a verification point that compares a current value for a specified property with the expected value for that property. This enables you to identify whether your app is functioning correctly. The test results provide information about which object property checkpoints failed during a test run, and why. For user interface details, see the Checkpoint Properties Dialog Box

• An output value is a step in which one or more values are captured at a specific point in your test and stored for later use during a test. These values can later be used as input at a different point in the run session. For user interface details, see Output Value Properties Dialog Box.

Pin / Unpin. Pin, or unpin, the toolbar to the side of the screen.

Collapse / Expand. Collapse or expand the toolbar to a see more or less buttons.
