Creating and Changing Passwords

The site administrator can create, change, or override a user's password.

  • In SSO mode, you cannot change the password of any user unless local authentication is enabled. Password changes are effective only for the users whose IdP ID is set to "local" or "empty". For details, see Set up SSO Authentication.

  • You can only change passwords for users that are set to log in to ALM using their ALM passwords. If LDAP passwords are in use, or if users log in to ALM using external authentication, this option is unavailable. For details on LDAP authentication, see Defining LDAP Settings for Importing Users.
  • Users who are not administrators can change their passwords using the User Properties link in the Project Customization window. For details, refer to the Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management User Guide: User Properties Page.

  • For details on the old connection method to Site Administration for the purposes of backward compatibility, see the BACKWARD_SUPPORT_SA_DEFAULT_USER site parameter.
