Select Test Object Dialog Box

This dialog box enables you to select objects from the shared object repository that are not displayed in the Select an Item list when creating automated component steps. For example, you can select an item other than a sibling or child object of the previous step's object.

To access

  1. In the Business Components module, select a component with Keyword GUI automation.

  2. Click the Automation tab.

  3. Click in an Item cell, and then click the arrow to display the Select an Item list.

    Note: If you have just created a new step, the list opens automatically as soon as you create the new step.

  4. Select Select another object.
Important information

After selecting an object from the shared object repository tree, the selected object is displayed in the Item cell and is also added to the Select an Item list.

UI Element Description
Name

Enables you to find an object in the shared object repository tree by entering the object name (or the beginning letters of the name) and then clicking Find Next.
Type

Enables you to limit the number of objects displayed in the shared object repository tree by selecting the type of object you require, for example, Check Box, or Button.

Find Next. Enables you to find an object in the shared object repository tree according to the object name, specified in the Name box.
