Set up your profile

Prerequisite: Configure identity provider

The My Profile tab of the wizard enables you, the current site admin user, to set up your user profile from within the wizard.

To set up your profile, specify the following in the My Profile tab:

Field Description
Authentication Method

Select an authentication method to identify the current site admin user.

The available options include:

  • ALM Local. Local authentication. Available only when local authentication is enabled. For details, see *Enable Local Authentication.

Make sure at least one site admin user has Authentication Method set to ALM Local. Otherwise, after SSO is enabled, no users can access ALM as a result of SSO failures.

  • Single Sign On. SSO authentication.

Identity Provider

Available only when the authentication method is SSO.

Select the IdP name of your mapped IdP user. Available options include all registered IdPs listed in Identity Provider Registration. For details, see Configure identity provider.

Identity Key

Available only when the authentication method is SSO.

Enter the unique value that identifies the mapped IdP user.

Note: As a site administrator, if you are going to enable SSO, do either of the following. Otherwise, you cannot access ALM and probably no user can access ALM after you enable SSO.

  • If you are already mapped to an IdP user, in the Authentication Method field, select Sing Sign On, and provide the IdP name and identity key of your mapped IdP user.
  • If you are not mapped to an IdP user yet, in the Authentication Method field, select ALM Local.
