Configure Business View Excel reports
Available for: Version 26.1 P1 and later
You can generate and modify Business View Excel reports in Microsoft Excel. This enables you to analyze your data using any of the capabilities available in Excel, and then to upload the report to OpenText Application Quality Management.
Prerequisites
Make sure you have the following installed before configuring Business View Excel reports in Excel:

A supported version of Microsoft Excel. For details, see Support Matrix.

The ALM Business Views Microsoft Excel add-in. If you do not have it installed, you can install it from Marketplace.
Generate and configure a Business View Excel report
You can generate a Business View Excel report and then configure it in Microsoft Excel to customize your data analysis.
To configure a Business View Excel report:

Open Dashboard > Analysis View.

Locate the required BV Excel report and click Generate Report.

Download the report as an XLSX file.

Open the downloaded report file in Microsoft Excel.

If you are not already connected to ALM, connect to ALM in Excel.

In the BV Excel Add-in tab on the ribbon, click Connect.

Enter your ALM server URL and credentials and select Authenticate.

Enter your domain and project and click Connect.

To configure the worksheet, click any cell in the worksheet. elect Show Configuration in the BV Excel Add-in tab to open the Worksheet Configuration pane.

In the Worksheet Configuration pane, configure your report using any of the following tabs.
Tab
Description
Fields Select or deselect the fields to be included in the report.
Filter Define filter criteria to restrict which data appears in the report.
Sort Set the sort order and criteria for report data. You can sort by up to five fields at a time.
Advanced Access advanced configuration options, such as domain and project selection, row limits, and direct DQL query editing.

After making your changes, refresh the report data:

Click Refresh in the BV Excel Add-in tab to refresh only the current worksheet.

Click Refresh All to refresh all worksheets in the workbook.

Save your changes:

Save the file locally in Excel.

Optionally, upload the configured report back to OpenText Application Quality Management. Click the arrow under Save in the BV Excel Add-in tab and select Save to OpenText Application Quality Management.
