New dashboard view - Tech preview
Available for: Version 26.1 P1 and later
A new, modern dashboard experience is now available. The new dashboard provides enhanced functionality compared to the Classic dashboard.
This feature is available as Tech preview. For known issue and limitations regarding this feature, see Known issues.
Access the new dashboard
By default, both the Classic and New dashboard views are available. You can switch between them at any time.
Note: The new dashboard is controlled by your site administrator using the site parameter ENABLE_NEW_DASHBOARD_IN_WEB_CLIENT. When the parameter is not set (default) or set to any value other than N, the new dashboard is available. When the parameter is set to N, only the Classic dashboard is available.
To access the new dashboard:
- Navigate to the Dashboard module.
- If you are viewing the Classic dashboard, click the SWITCH TO NEW link in the toolbar.
- The dashboard Home tab opens.
To switch back to the classic dashboard, click the SWITCH TO CLASSIC link in the toolbar.
Dashboard Home
The Dashboard Home tab displays an overview of your dashboards and provides quick access to frequently used pages.
The following options are available from the Home page.

| Recently used | Shows up to 5 of your most recently accessed dashboard pages. |
| Public Dashboards | Lists all dashboard pages and composite graphs stored in the Public folder hierarchy, organized by parent folder. Public dashboards are visible to all users. |
| Private Dashboards | Lists all dashboard pages and composite graphs stored in your Private folder. Private dashboards are visible only to you. |
| Search | Type keywords to filter items in the Public and Private panels by name. |

Click to create a new dashboard page or composite graph (available only if you have write permissions). |
Create a dashboard page
You can add a new empty dashboard page or a page based on an existing dashboard.
To create a new dashboard page:
- From the Dashboard Home, click the + New button.
- Select Page from the drop-down menu.
- Enter a name for the dashboard page.
- Choose the folder where you want to store the page:
- A Public folder to make the page available to all users.
- Your Private folder for personal dashboards.
- Select create from Blank or From Existing.
- Click Create. The dashboard is added to the Home page.
Create a composite graph
A composite graph merges 2 to 3 compatible graphs into a single unified chart. Composite graphs are useful for comparing related data across multiple visualizations.
To create a composite graph:
- From Dashboard Home, click the + New button.
- Select Composite Graph from the dropdown menu.
- Enter a name for the composite graph.
- Select 2 to 3 compatible graphs from the list:
- Graphs must have compatible data types and chart types. Time-series cannot mix with non-time-series.
- Incompatible graphs are shown with reduced opacity and cannot be selected.
A composite graph can include up to 3 graphs, regardless of whether they are generated for the same project.
- Click Create Composite. The composite graph is added to the dashboard home page.
Add widgets to a dashboard page
Widgets are graph cards displayed on a dashboard page. You can add existing graphs or create new graphs directly from the dashboard. A dashboard page can contain up to 4 widgets.
When adding a widget to the dashboard, you can:

Add an existing graph
You can add an existing graph directly to a dashboard page.
To add an existing graph:
- Open a dashboard page.
- Click the + Add Widget button.
- Click Use Existing Graph.
- Select a graph from the list.
- Click Add. The graph is displayed as a widget card on the page.
Create an entity graph
You can add a new entity graph directly to a dashboard page.
To create a new entity graph:
- Open a dashboard page.
- Click the + Add Widget button.
- Click Create New Graph.
- Select Entity Graph and click Configure.
- (Optional) Select the projects you want to include in the graph.
From the Projects Tree list, select the target projects. If you select a domain, all the domain's projects are added to the grid.Note: You can select only projects in which you are listed as a user. The maximum number of projects that you can include in a graph is determined by setting the PROJECT_SELECTION_MAX_PROJECTS site parameter. For details, see Site Parameters.
- (Optional) Define filter conditions for the graph.
- Enter a descriptive name for the graph.

Fill in the required fields.
Field Details Entity Choose the entity type to visualize (For example, Defects, Test Results). Graph type Select from available options: Summary, Trend, Progress, Age, or Cycle Time.
Chart type For example, Bar, Line, Pie. Available options depend on your graph type. -
Configure the X axis based on your selected graph type:

X-Axis (Group By): Select the field to group data along the horizontal axis (For example, Severity, Status). This is required for all graph types.

Grouped By (Series): If available for your graph type, optionally select a second field to create a data series. This splits the data by a secondary dimension and is available for Summary and similar graph types. Trend graphs do not support this option.

Configure the Y axis:

Select count to display the count of records.

Select sum of to display the sum of a numeric field (when available for your entity).

- Use the live preview to verify how the graph will look.
- Click Save & Finish. The graph is created and automatically added as a widget to the dashboard page.
Create a business view graph
You can create and add a new business view graph directly to a dashboard page.
To create a new business view graph:
- Open a dashboard page.
- Click the + Add Widget button.
- Click the Create tab.
- Select Business View Graph and click Configure.
- Fill in the required fields:
- Graph Name: Enter a descriptive name for the graph.
- Business View: Select the Business View to visualize.
- Click Save & Finish. The graph is created and automatically added as a widget to the dashboard page.
Widget card actions
Each widget on a dashboard page has a toolbar with the following actions.

| Fullscreen | Displays the graph in browser full-screen mode for better visibility. Click the Fullscreen icon in the widget toolbar. Press Escape to exit full-screen mode. |
| Refresh | Updates the graph data to display the latest information. Click the Refresh icon in the widget toolbar or click Refresh Data in the page toolbar to refresh all widgets on the page. |
