Test configurations
Use test configurations to run a test with different parameter values. This helps you reuse the same test with different data sets and provides finer granularity for requirement coverage.
Before you begin

The target test is created. For details, see Create a test plan tree.

Test parameters are defined. For details, see Test parameters.
Create and manage test configurations
When you create a test, a default test configuration with the same name is automatically added.
To add a new test configuration:

In the test plan tree, select a test.

Open the Test Configurations tab and click the New Test Configuration button +.

In the details dialog box, enter a name for the configuration and click Submit.
To update or delete a test configuration:

To edit values, select the configuration and click a field to edit it. You can also click the ID hyperlink to open the Details dialog box.

To remove a configuration, select it and click Delete.
Define configuration data
Use the Data tab to assign parameter values for each test configuration.
To define configuration data:

In the Test Configurations tab, select a configuration.

In the lower pane, open the Data tab.

In the Actual Value column, provide the values to use for this configuration.

(Optional) Click Copy Default Values To replaces actual values for the currently selected parameters with the parameter defaults.

(Optional) To apply values to linked test instances, open the Update Selected Parameters menu and select one of the following:

Update Selected Parameters. Updates the actual value of the selected parameters only.

Update All Parameters. Updates the actual value of all parameters across all test instances associated with the selected test configurations.

Additional actions
In the Test Configurations tab, you can also:

Use the Filter to quickly find configurations.
-
Add or view attachments for a configuration in the Attachments tab.

Review changes to the test configuration in the History tab.
After configurations are defined, you can add specific test configurations to test sets. For details, see Add tests to test sets.
