Create and configure snapshots
This topic describes how to create application snapshots and configure the property versions.
Create a snapshot
You can create a snapshot of an application in a given environment and then specify the snapshot configuration.
To create a snapshot:
-
In Deployment Automation, navigate to Management > Applications and select the application from which you want to create a snapshot.
-
Select the Snapshots tab.
-
Click Create.
-
Enter a name and description for the snapshot.
-
Click Save.
The current versions of all elements are saved in the snapshot. After you have created a snapshot, select the snapshot to view and configure it.
Configure a snapshot
After you create a snapshot, you can configure the property versions.
To configure a snapshot:
-
In Deployment Automation, navigate to Management > Applications and select an application.
-
Select the Snapshots tab and then a snapshot.
-
Click the Configuration tab.
-
Expand the items in the tree to view the property version numbers that are currently selected in this snapshot. Included is property version information for the following:
- Components
- Component Versions
- Component Processes
- Applications
- Application Processes
- Application Environments
- Resources
- System Properties
-
To update all the property versions, select an option:
- Reset All to Latest: Reset all configuration targets to the latest version.
- Lock Loose Entries: Lock all configuration targets that are automatically using the latest version available. Select this only if you are sure you want to lock these targets.
-
Copy from Snapshot: This uses the component configuration from the selected snapshot.
Caution: If you have already added a component configuration to the snapshot to which you are copying, this action removes the configuration and replaces it with the one from the selected snapshot.
-
To view the property details, beside the property click the Details icon.
-
To set the version to a specific version, or to always use the latest version, select the Set Version option next to the property.
