Promote Package step

Use the Promote Package step to promote a ChangeMan ZMF change package.

Required properties

You need to set the following required properties for the Promote Package step:

Property Description
Name Enter a name for the step. By default, the system uses the command name.
Host Address Enter the TCP/IP host name or the LPAR number of the ChangeMan ZMF subsystem to connect to.
Port ID Enter the TCP/IP port ID for the ChangeMan ZMF subsystem to connect to.
User ID Specify a TSO user ID or SERNET/ChangeMan ZMF trusted user ID that can log in on behalf of other users.
Password Specify the corresponding TSO password or SERNET/ChangeMan ZMF password.
Package Name Enter the name of the ChangeMan ZMF change package.
Promotion Site Name Enter the ChangeMan ZMF change package promotion site name.
Promotion Name Enter the ChangeMan ZMF change package promotion or demotion level nickname.
jobCard Specify a job card. Separate multiple job cards with semicolons (;).

Optional properties

You can set the following optional properties for the Promote Package step:

Property Description
Login as User ID Enter the user ID to access ChangeMan ZMF by the trusted user ID.
Login as Current DA User Select this option to access ChangeMan ZMF with the user that is currently logged in to Deployment Automation, even if another user is specified in the Login as User ID field.
Promotion Level Specify the ChangeMan ZMF change package promotion or demotion level. The sequence number of a target promotion library in the promotion hierarchy.
Deployment Date

Specify the deployment date and time. Use the following format:

yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss

Overlay Target Components Use this option to overlay target library members. The option is selected by default.
Suppress Notify Use this option to suppress the batch message.
User Variable Specify user variables. Separate multiple variables with semicolons (;).
Component Name Specify one or more components to use. Separate multiple names with a semicolon (;).
Component Type Specify the types of components. Separate multiple types with a semicolon (;).
Web Service Timeout Interval

Enter the time interval for the ChangeMan ZMF web service call, in minutes. The default interval is 5 minutes.

Note: If your requests time out, set a longer time interval. Use the timeout option together with filters to limit the amount of returned data.

Ignore Failure Select this option if you want the step to always be considered successful.
Working Directory

Enter an alternative absolute path to the working directory for the step.

To use the default working directory for the process, leave the field empty.

Post Processing Script

Select a custom post-processing script. To run the step's default script, leave the field empty.

To create your custom post-processing script, click Add , and enter script details in the Create Script dialog box.

A post-processing script helps ensure that expected results occur. It runs after a step finishes processing. For details, see Manage post-processing scripts.

Precondition Enter a JavaScript script to define a condition that must exist before the step can run. The condition resolves to true or false.
Use Impersonation Select this option if you want an agent to run the step as a different user. Specify the impersonation details for a Windows or UNIX/Linux agent, as described in Use impersonation to run processes.
Hint Add a comment to the step. To view the comment, point to the step in the design space.
