What's New in Mobile Center 2.60

Mobile Center 2.60 includes a number of new features, enhancements, and fixes.

Fingerprint authentication simulation

Fingerprint authentication simulation is now supported for packaged apps for both exploratory testing, and for replay through UFT.

Fingerprints are often used for security authentication on mobile devices. Apps may utilize fingerprint authentication to secure sensitive features such as sign-on and payments. If the device you are testing is not physically available, for example, if it is in a device lab in a different location, you will be unable to authenticate with a fingerprint and to fully test your app. With Mobile Center’s Fingerprint Simulation feature, you can simulate the entering of a fingerprint on the device’s screen, and select an authentication result: Success, Failure, or Cancel. This eliminates the need for access to the physical device.

For more details, see Fingerprint and Face ID simulation.

Multi-project support (Early Access)

Mobile Center's multi-project feature enables you to create multiple projects on a single Mobile Center server. Project administrators can then add users, and allocate devices and apps to these projects. There is complete separation between projects, and each project's apps and devices are only visible in that project.

This feature is useful for central IT, where separation may be required between different teams and projects in an organization, as well as for scenarios where users want complete segregation of apps. This feature is offered as an early access feature.
