iOS 14 beta and Android 11 beta support

You can now test apps running on iOS 14 beta, using the Mac connector. For details see the ADM marketplace.

We've also included support for Android 11 beta. For details, see Android support.

Exploratory test recording

You can now open a device remotely in recording mode, and record manual steps on it. At the end of the your manual testing session, download a report which contains an automatically generated transcript of the actions performed on the device, along with screenshots, the device log, and test details. Use the report for creating a defect, or a test case. For details, see Device access window.

Enhanced AWS Device Farm integration

AWS Device Farm devices can now be used for both record and replay of automated tests, or for manual testing. You can add an ADF device to the lab, from either a private or public device fleet, and interact with it using the remote device screen viewer. For details, see .
A corresponding API has also been added to allow you to add an ADF device with a REST API call, as part of Continuous Integration (CI). For details, see Manage devices.

Simplified Genymotion Cloud integration

We've made it easier to setup the Genymotion cloud integration. Configure the integration in a few simple steps in the Administration settings. Then, start emulators directly from the UFT Mobile Lab console, and use them for manual testing and test automation. For CI there is also a REST API for adding and connecting Genymotion emulators. XCTest and Espresso frameworks support

Connect UFT Mobile devices to your IDE, control them remotely, and run XCTest and Espresso tests on them. For details, see XCTest and Espresso tests.

Device health alert

You can now define a threshold for several device metrics such as WiFi connectivity or temperature. If a device metric deviates from the configured threshold, its device card displays an alert icon . For details, see Device cleanup.

New workspace admin role

User management within workspaces can now be delegated to workspace admins. The shared space admin user can now create a workspace admin user, who can assign users to workspaces, or unassign them.

User management

LDAP Synchronization. You can now import users from an LDAP server. The synchronization adds new users, and removes users no longer on the list. For details, see Use LDAP.

Import users from a file. Using the user management script, users can now be imported from a CSV file. For details, see Manage user accounts with scripts .

Other enhancements and updates

Mobile Center 3.4 includes the following enhancements:

Testing iOS hybrid apps without signing/packaging (Non-injected hybrid support)	Ability to interact with any iOS hybrid app downloaded from the App Store, or apps signed with an Enterprise certificate. With the Hybrid v2 feature, can you interact with apps that are not signed with a Development certificate, and therefore do not allow WebView injection. This feature is enabled automatically for exploratory recording, and is supported with the Hybrid v2 switch* in the device control pane when using testing tools. *Currently supported from OpenText Functional testing version 15.0.1 and later
Device metrics for iOS	We've added thermal state to iOS device metrics, so that you can take action if heat elevation occurs. For details, see Manage devices.
iOS remote device screen viewer	Improved image quality.
Animated screenshots for UFT test report	New option to capture animated screenshots (.gif file) of step execution during replay. Unlike static screenshots, animated screenshots contain the full context of a step (from the beginning to the end), and can therefore provide valuable information for tracing and analyzing issues. Supported from OpenText Functional testing version 15.01.
Default support for Android secure flag layout	The Android secure layout flag treats the content of a window as secure, preventing it from appearing in screenshots or from being viewed on non-secure displays. By default, OpenText Functional Testing Lab now supports remote viewing of apps that use the Android FLAG_SECURE, without having to modify the connector properties. For details, see Android secure layout.
APIs for iOS agents signing using multiple Apple accounts	New REST API support for automatically signing Agents with more than one Apple Account. For details, see APIs for signing iOS Agents.
SV license consumption from AutoPass License Server	The number of concurrent virtual services that can be run per SV Lab is determined by your OpenText Functional Testing Lab license edition. For details, see Licenses. You can now also increase the number of virtual services by purchasing an SV license.
PostgreSQL v11 support	When using OpenText Functional Testing Lab with an external database, you can now use PostgreSQL version 11.
Ability to specify database schema name	When installing OpenText Functional Testing Lab with an external database, you can specify the database schema name.
Support for non-English characters for workspace names	Workspace names can be in any of the supported languages: English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish.
SSO - Automatic addition of users	Any authenticated user that logs in, is automatically added to the Default Workspace. To enable the option, open Administration > Settings > SAML SSO integration.

Appium

We're rolling out a newer version of Appium embedded in OpenText Functional Testing Lab. OpenText Functional Testing Lab 3.4 supports Appium 1.17.
