Audit a Dimensions CM project or stream

This topic describes how to produce an audit report for the build areas associated with a project/stream in the Dimensions CM web client.

The report compares the files in the Dimensions CM repository with those in the build areas that you select. You can also repair the build area so that it contains all the item revisions from the project/stream that are at the stage you selected.

PRIVILEGES: Audit a Project/Stream.

To audit a build project/stream:

  1. In the web client, in the menu area of the Items, Requests, or Projects tabs, click Build and select Audit Project.

Alternatively, in the navigation pane of the My Current Project tab, select Folders and Items. In the menu area click Build and select Audit Project.

The Audit Project dialog box opens.

  2. From the Project list, select the project to audit.

  3. From the Stage list, select a stage to be audited.

  4. From Area list, select a build area to be audited. To audit all the build areas associated with the stage, select <All areas>.

  5. From the Filter list, select a filter to determine which items will be included in the audit. Or use the default filter for the area.

Caution: Make sure not to confuse audit filters with area filters. For details on how to use these filters correctly, see the Administration Console online help.

  6. For Report, enter the path to the file to contain the report, or click the browse button and select the file. If you do not select a file, the report is displayed in the Details window and is not saved.

  7. To repair the build area so that it contains all the item revisions from the project that are at the specified stage, select the Fix any inconsistencies found in the area option.

  8. To run the audit, click OK.
