The Dimensions CM web client is a web-based application that provides access to a Dimensions CM server and database on a network node on Windows or UNIX/Linux.
Use the web client to perform basic Dimensions CM tasks, such as create, modify, and action items, requests, and baselines as well as create and manage projects and streams.
Web client tools
Windows: If your environment does not allow Java, or you are using a browser that does not support the Java plugin, you can use web client tools for version management operations such as update and deliver. Web Client Tools are enabled by default.
Linux: Web client tools are not supported on Linux clients.
For information about enabling and configuring the tools, see Administration.
If your Dimensions CM environment is set up to use web client tools, you can install them from the web client login page. After installation, your browser prompts you to launch web client tools for each version management operation. You can select to always launch web client tools.
To install web client tools:
On the web client login page, click information about installing web client tools.
Click the link to download and install the tools.
Or click Test to verify that you have the correction version of web client tools installed.
Use web client tools on remote work areas
By default, web client tools are used for local and remote work areas. With remote work areas, you can use web client tools or the regular web client interface for version management operations.
To use web client tools with remote work areas:
On the toolbar, click the User ID. The Set User Preferences dialog box opens.
Select Use web client tools for remote work areas.
