Deploy objects

In the Dimensions CM web client, you can deploy objects to deployment areas associated with the project/stream. During deployment, the item files associated with the selected revisions are copied to the areas associated with their stage.

Note: This functionality is not available for external requests.

Before you start deploying objects, review the Deploy and rollback rules.

Overview

Deploying results in the item files associated with the selected revisions being copied to the areas associated with their stage. The item revisions must not be at a higher stage than the stage with which the areas are associated for the items to be deployed to those areas.

Deploying a request deploys the item revisions that are related In response to the request, and optionally, any child requests. Any refactoring changes associated with the request are also deployed.

Deploying a baseline deploys the item revisions belonging to the baseline.

You can choose either to schedule a date and time for deploying items or to start a build after deploying, provided that the related items are part of a build configuration.
