Authenticate to Jira using OpenText Dimensions CM credentials

As an alternative to using OAuth, you can use OpenText Dimensions CM authentication credentials (user ID and password) when setting up authentication to Jira.

Prerequisites:

  • Jira is hosted as a Server (not in the Cloud).
  • The OpenText Dimensions CM and Jira user ID and password match.
  • The Jira provider has basic authentication enabled. For details, see Configure Jira provider.

To use OpenText Dimensions CM authentication credentials:

  1. Open the OpenText Dimensions CM server dm.cfg configuration file. The default locations are:

    Windows <install_dir>/Dimensions<version>/CM/dm.cfg
    UNIX <install_dir>/dimensions/cm/dm.cfg

  2. In the server configuration file, add this variable:

    DM_JIRA_USE_CM_CREDS Y

  3. Restart the OpenText Dimensions CM server.
