Copy Object Type dialog box

Use the Copy Object Type dialog box to create a new type of object based on the details of another type.

For items, requests, and projects, you can set additional options that define the rules and behavior of the object type. For details about the Options tab, see New Object Type dialog box.

Field	Description
Product	(Display only) Specifies the product to which this object type belongs. By default, the current product is selected.
Based on	(Display only) Specifies the object type you are copying.
Class	(Display only) Specifies the object class for which you are copying the type.
Name	Enter a unique name for the object type. Use up to 10 characters for item types and up to 25 characters for other object types.
Description	(Optional) Change the description for the object type, up to 240 characters long.
What is the closest functional match for this request type?	Requests only: Define the purpose for which you intend to use the request type. Based on your selection, OpenText Dimensions CM sets the defaults on the Options tab.
Extended copy	Specify the properties and associations to copy from the selected object type to the new type. The options depend on the copied object. After copying the object type, you can edit these details in the Object Types content area. For details, see Object Types main window. Copy Attributes - Assigns the attributes of the selected object type to the new object type. Copy Attribute Rules - Copies the attribute rules for the selected object type the new object type. Copy Lifecycle - Assigns the lifecycle of the selected object type to the new object type. Copy Valid Relationships - Copies the valid relationships defined for the selected item or request type to the new item or request type. Copy Assigned Item Library - Assigns the item library for the selected item type to the new item type. Copy Prime Mappings - Copies the prime attribute mappings from the selected request type to the new request type. Copy CM Rules - Copies the Change Management rules defined for the selected item or request type to the new item or request type. Copy Default Template Association - Copies the default template for the selected item or request type to the new item or request type. Copy All - Copies all the available options from the selected object type to the new object type.
