This document, also known as a Product Availability Matrix (PAM), provides information on system requirements, supported operating systems, technologies, and integrations.

Hardware requirements

To successfully install and run OpenText Functional Testing, your computer must meet the minimum hardware requirements listed.

Performance may be improved by using a computer with the recommended system requirements.

The following hardware requirements are relevant for OpenText Functional Testing version 26.3.

Software requirements

The following software is required:

Requirement Details
Microsoft Visual C++ 2022
Redistributable or higher

The Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 Redistributable, or a higher version, is required before installing OpenText Functional Testing, included in the prerequisites installer.
OpenText Functional Testing for Developers
(UFT Developer)		 If you are installing OpenText Functional Testing for Developers, you must first install Node.js. Supported Node.js versions: 22.22.0–24.x
.NET 4.8 framework

.NET 8.0.26 Desktop Runtime (or later versions)

Microsoft pdm.dll		 These programs are required before installing OpenText Functional Testing. If they are not found, the OpenText Functional Testing installer will prompt you to install them.
Python If you plan to use Python as a scripting language, install a supported 32‑bit Python version before installing OpenText Functional Testing 26.3. For more information, see Python installation prerequisites.
The supported Python versions are 3.10 through 3.14.

Microsoft 365 Access Runtime (32, 64-bit) This prerequisite is required in the following cases:
  • Running API tests that interact with data tables
  • Your tests need to get data from an Access database or other format that requires this driver.
This prerequisite is not included with the OpenText Functional Testing installation. If you do not have Microsoft Office installed, you can download and install the Microsoft 365 Access Runtime from the Microsoft website.
.NET 3.5 framework

Microsoft WSE 2.0sp3 package

Microsoft WSE 3.0 package		 If you plan to use API testing, to test web services using WSE security settings, you must have the .NET Framework 3.5, WSE 2.0sp3 package, and WSE 3.0 package installed on your computer. These are not available with the OpenText Functional Testing installation files, and must be separately downloaded.
Microsoft Media Feature Pack

For Windows Server 2012 and later, Microsoft Media Foundation		 If you plan to use AI Object Detection features, you need to install or enable these components. These are not available with the OpenText Functional Testing installation files and must be separately downloaded.

Aviator - Supported LLM Models

UFT Aviator can connect to your LLM if your model is based on the OpenAI protocol with chat completion endpoints.
