Functional Test Design

This document provides information on system requirements and on certified and supported operating systems and technologies.

We recommend using Functional Test Design with these certified versions, though other versions might work and be compatible with Functional Test Design as well. Using uncertified versions increase the risk of encountering issues. For more details or questions contact our support.

Hardware requirements

To successfully run Functional Test Design, your computer must meet the minimum hardware requirements listed.

Performance may be improved by using a computer with the recommended system requirements.

The following hardware requirements are relevant for Functional Test Design.

Memory Recommended

Resolution Minimum 1440 x 900 or higher
Hard Disk Recommended SSD type, 5 GB of free disk space for application files and folders

Software requirements

Working with Functional Test Design requires installing the Design Agent.

Design Agent has the following software requirements:

The Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 Redistributable is required before installing Design Agent, included in the prerequisites installer.

         Tip: If the installation does not start due to missing KB files, troubleshoot by viewing the VC2022Prerequisite_yyyymmdd_XXXXXX.log file in the %TEMP% directory.

Node.js

Supported Node.js versions: 18.20.x - 22.11.0

Windows media feature

Depending on your operating system, turn on one of the following features. For up-to-date instructions, see the Microsoft documentation.

For Windows OS - Microsoft Media Feature Pack

  1. From the Control Panel, select Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off.

  2. In the Windows Feature window, turn on Media Features.

  3. Restart the computer to take effect.

For Windows Server 2012 and later - Microsoft Media Foundation

  1. From the Control Panel, select Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off.

  2. In the Add Roles and Features Wizard window, click Next until you reach the Features tab.

  3. Turn on Media Foundation.

  4. Click Install.

  5. Restart the computer for your changes to take effect.
