Run scenarios from the command line

You can set up scenario run automation by invoking Controller from the command line without the need to manually define run settings using Controller's UI.

When invoked, Controller checks all of the received arguments and sets its start-up environment accordingly.

For example, you can instruct Controller to connect to the Load Generator, start up, save results to a folder other than the folder defined in the scenario, and invoke Analysis upon completion of the scenario run.

The Command Line Interface (CLI) tool enables you to run a scenario from the command line using an XML input file, or a LoadRunner Professional scenario (.lrs) file. For details, see Run scenarios using the CLI tool.

Alternatively, you can run a LoadRunner Professional scenario (.lrs) from the command line using the wlrun command. For details, see Run scenarios with wlrun command.

Tip: You can generate the Host ID from the command line, by running licgencli.exe.
