Result Settings dialog box

This dialog box enables you to set the location where Controller saves scenario run results.

By default, the results directory is stored in your machine's temp folder. LoadRunner Professional creates a subfolder using the result name, and places all the data it gathers in that folder.

Important information
If you have an open connection to an ALM project, and the scenario is saved in the ALM system, LoadRunner Professional saves the results to a test set in the ALM system. You can also save the results locally.

User interface elements are described below:

UI Element
Description

File System / OpenText ALM button

Note:

  • This button is displayed only when there is an open connection to an ALM project.
  • If you are connected to an ALM project, but previously set the scenario to be saved to the Controller file system, the button is disabled.

This button toggles between the possible save locations. The dialog box settings change, according to the current mode:

  • OpenText ALM. When this is displayed, you are currently in Controller mode, meaning results are saved to a folder in the Controller file system.
  • File System. When this is displayed, you are currently in ALM mode, meaning results are saved to a folder in the ALM file system.
Result Name

Specify a name for the run results folder.

LoadRunner Professional allows you to give a descriptive name to each result set. Descriptive names are especially useful for cross results analysis, in which the results of several scenario runs are superimposed in a single Analysis graph, allowing you to compare the results of multiple scenario runs.

When comparing the results of scenario runs in Analysis, the graph displays all the result sets in different colors.

Note: Use different names even when saving results in different folders. Since the Analysis graphs display only names and not the paths, distinguishing results is difficult if names are identical.

Directory

Specify a location in the Controller file system where results will be saved.

  • If you are using the default file storage setting (local machine), specify a folder in which to store all of the collated results after the scenario run.

  • If you specified a shared network drive as the file storage method, specify the folder to which Vuser groups should write during scenario execution.
