This topic includes descriptions of new features available in recent MBT updates.

May 2023

The following updates are available in the build:

Area Enhancement
Model

The model editor includes the following enhancements:

  • In the model layout pane, you can now right-click entities to access relevant commands.

  • The toolbar, now located in the model layout pane, contains additional buttons.

  • You can select an area in a model to choose multiple items, and perform bulk commands on the selected entities.

Export/ Import

You can now export and import models between workspaces.

Manual test on unit

You can now assign a manual test that was previously created to a unit. After you assign the test, import its parameters to the test's data set.

November 2022

The following updates are available in the build:

Area Enhancement
Unit filtering

When you open a model in the model editor, the units included in the Components pane are now filtered by default. Unless you modify this filter, you will only see units that are directly related to the model’s branch in the hierarchy, and not all of the units in the workspace.

If you modify this filter, your new settings will override the default branch filter until the filter is completely cleared.

September 2022

The following updates are available in the build:

Area Enhancement
Unit card

We added the following:

  • In the Models tab, unit cards now include details on related backlog items, and latest execution results. Tooltips show additional information where relevant.

  • In the Paths tab, units in the Path Preview pane display information related to your strategy. If you select the Agile Based strategy, you see details on related items. If you select Unit Recent Failure strategy, will see latest run results.

You can use the Grid option to apply a grid to the model for visual purposes. For details on modeling, see Create a model.

The following updates are available in the build:

Model

You can now use the Export to Picture menu command to generate a .jpg image of your model. For details, see Create a model.

Parameters

In the Data Sets tab, you can now see which units contain each of the parameters and their values. For details, see Configure parameters and data sets.

BPMN

When you import a zip file containing multiple BPMN files, a parent folder is created in the MBT repository representing the zip file. For details, see BPMN integration.

The following updates are available in the build:

Area Enhancement
Unit card

We added the following:

  • In the Model tab, the cards showing units and models have been improved. The following elements were added to the cards (where relevant): unit name, comment icon, and priority.

  • You can create a unit from the model designer.

  • You can attach a comment to a unit.

Modeling

We added the following:

  • You can create a model with multiple end points.

  • Models now contain a collapse/expand icon.

  • You can attach a comment to a model.

BPMN

We added the following:

  • You can perform bulk import of multiple BPMN files at once.

  • If your BPMN file contains information on lanes and roles, these are now reflected in MBT.

  • If your BPMN file contains more than one end point, multiple end points are created in MBT.

Paths

You can now draw a path by selecting a specific set of units from the start to end points, using the Path Preview pane. For details, see Draw a path manually (optional) .

Strategies

We added the Unit Failure Based strategy, to help you focus testing on units that experienced recent test failures. For details, see Select a testing coverage strategy.

The following updates are available in the build:

Area Enhancement
Agile-based strategy When you choose the Agile-based strategy, you can now use drop-downs to easily select release, milestone, and time frame. For details, see Agile-based testing.
Test results After running tests, the suite run's Report tab now includes details of tests execution results per unit. This includes values of parameters that were used in each iteration of a test run. For details, see Run tests.
