Initial Windows Phone device setup

  1. Check that your device has the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system.
  2. Register your Windows Phone device for development. For details, see Register your Windows Phone.
  3. Set the Lock screen settings configured to "Never" (recommended).

Connect a Windows Phone device

You can only connect one Windows Phone device per Windows connector.
  1. Make sure that your environment complies with all of the prerequisites.
  2. On the machine to which you intend to plug in the device, select the WP-start-hpmc.bat file, typically located in the C:\Program Files\Mobile Center Server\server or C:\Program Files\Mobile Center Connector\connector folders. Select Run as administrator from the right-click menu. This starts Mobile Center as a process instead of a service.
  3. Plug in the device to either a Windows server or a Windows connector machine. Wait until the device displays Connected on its screen.
  4. Run tests as usual with your testing tool.
