Install an NV Insights license for VuGen

When NV Insights for Vugen is first installed, it uses a 30-day trial license. The trial period begins the first time you use the NV analysis functionality in VuGen.

To continue after the trial license period, you must install a valid license on the VuGen machine.

Caution: If you install any Network Virtualization product on a virtual machine, do not clone the machine after the trial license has started.

There are two different licensing models available for NV Insights for VuGen:

Seat license A license that is created for a specific computer, and cannot be transferred to another computer. (Also known as node-lock instance license.)
Floating license

Licenses are shared dynamically between multiple client users. The licenses are held by a license server and can be checked out as necessary by machines which have both VuGen and the NV component installed. (Also known as concurrent license.)

Open NV License Manager

On the VuGen machine, open the NV License Manager in one of the following ways:

  1. From the Windows Start menu, select All Programs > HPE Software > HPE NV for Performance Testing > NV License Manager.

In Windows 8.x or higher, you can access NV License Manager from the Start or Apps screen.
