You can share a public link of a dashboard favorite with non-ALM Octane users. The external users can access the dashboard without an ALM Octane login.
ALM Octane Editions: Sharing dashboards externally is available for Enterprise edition only.
Using public links, you can:
- Share the dashboard link with stakeholders who may not be users in ALM Octane.
- Embed the dashboard in presentations or online documents, such as SharePoint or Confluence.
The public link displays live data from ALM Octane in read-only mode.
Users with the public link will be able to view the same widgets with the same data as displayed in the favorite inside ALM Octane. The same data access permissions that apply to the user that created the public link apply to the data displayed using the link.
You can share public links of favorites that you created. You can load other favorites and save them as another favorite.
To enable sharing dashboards externally, your administrator needs to set several configurations. For details, see Public favorite links - admin tasks.
To share a dashboard outside ALM Octane:
- In the Dashboard module, open the Favorites menu , and then click Load/Manage.
In the My Favorites category, click the Public link button alongside the favorite that you want to share externally.
In the popup, set an expiration date for the public link. After the expiration date, external users will not be able to access the dashboard with the link.
Leave the date empty to allow the public link to work perpetually. You can set or change the expiration date later.
In the same popup, click Create public link. The public link is created and copied to your clipboard.
