System resources graphs

System resources graphs enable you to analyze system resource usage on a machine during a load test run.

Note: Some monitors are supported only in OpenText Core Performance Engineering while others are available in OpenText Enterprise Performance Engineering or OpenText Professional Performance Engineering. For detailed compatibility information, see the Support Matrix.

About system resources graphs

A primary factor in a transaction's response time is its system resource usage.

Using system resource monitors, you can monitor the resources on a machine during a scenario run, and determine why a bottleneck occurred on a particular machine.

System resources metrics require that you specify the resources you want to measure before running the scenario.

Host resources

The Host resources metric displays a summary of the system resources usage for each host (Controller and load generators) measured during the load test

Axis Details
X-axis

Elapsed time since the start of the run.

Y-axis

The usage of resources on the Windows hosts.

Note: Controller is relevant for OpenText Enterprise Performance Engineering and OpenText Professional Performance Engineering only. OpenText Core Performance Engineering can use this metric with either cloud or on-premises load generators.

AppInsights

The AppInsights graph displays metrics fetched by the Application Insights monitor to your load test.

Axis Details
X-axis

Elapsed time since the start of the run.

Y-axis

Dependent on the selected AppInsights metrics.

CloudWatch

The CloudWatch graph displays metrics fetched from AWS resources and applications by the CloudWatch monitor.

Axis Details
X-axis

Elapsed time since the start of the run.

Y-axis

Dependent on the selected CloudWatch metrics.

Datadog

The Analysis Datadog graph displays metrics fetched by the Datadog monitor.

When a metric is showing aggregated results from more than one host, the names of all hosts are included in the Measurement column in the legend. The aggregation method is indicated in the metric name, for example, avg:metric1.

Axis Details
X-axis

Elapsed time since the start of the run.

Y-axis

Dependent on the selected Datadog metrics.

Dynatrace

The Dynatrace SaaS graph displays metrics collected by Dynatrace SaaS, a cloud-based APM tool.

Axis Details
X-axis

Elapsed time since the start of the run.

Y-axis

Dependent on the selected Dynatrace metrics.

SiteScope

If your test has been configured to use a SiteScope monitor, you can view the SiteScope resources measured during the run. This can help you to determine why a bottleneck occurred on a machine.

Windows resources

This graph shows the Windows resources measured during the load test. The Windows measurements correspond to the built-in counters available from the Windows Performance Monitor.

To obtain data for this graph, select the measurements for the online monitor before running the load test.

Axis Details
X-axis

Elapsed time since the start of the run.

Y-axis

The usage of resources on the Windows machine running the load test.
