Application Server

We recommend the following for PPM Servers:

• Processors equivalent to current generation 2.66-3.00 GHz Intel� Xeon� multi-core processors (dual-core or quad-core).

• Minimum of 2 CPU cores per host to best support multi-threaded nature of PPM

• JVM heap size of 1280 MB. (This is the default.) Under heavy load, a JVM running with a 1280-MB heap consumes upward of 1500 MB, including native area code.

• Provision hardware to support 1.5 GB of RAM for each PPM node in a server cluster.

• If clients access PPM over a wide area network (WAN), enable both dynamic asset compression and keepalive on the external Web server.
