Creating Packages as References from Packages

You can create a new package as part of referencing a new package to an entity such as a request or another package.

To create a new package as a reference to an existing package:

  1. Log on to PPM.

  2. From the menu bar, select Open > Administration > Open Workbench.

    The PPM Workbench opens.

  3. From the shortcut bar, select Deployment Mgmt > Packages.

    The Package Workbench opens to the Query tab.

  4. Use the available fields to provide your search criteria, and then click List.

    The Results tab lists the packages that match your search criteria.

  5. Double-click the row for the package you want to open.

    The Package window opens.

  6. Click the References tab.

  7. From the New Reference list at the bottom on the tab, select Package (New), and then click Add.

    The New Reference - Package (New) window opens.

  8. Under Select the Relationship that the selected Package has to Package # <Package Number>, select the option that describes the relationship that the new package is to have to the existing package, and then click Create.

    A new Package window opens.

  9. Provide all required information, and any optional information you want to associate with the new package, and then click OK or Save.

  10. In the Package window that displays the original package, click OK.
