Send resource requests

After creating the staffing profile, you can send assignment requests to the specified resource pools.

Overview of sending resource requests

Lines in a staffing profile represent forecast roles that lack specific resources. After creating the staffing profile, you can send assignment requests to the resource pools specified in each staffing profile line. Assignment requests then appear in the corresponding resource pool for the pool manager to fill.

Send resource requests

This section describes how to send resource requests from the staffing profile New UI. If you are using the Legacy UI, follow the steps described in Send resource requests (Legacy UI).

To send resource requests for your staffing profile:

  1. Open the staffing profile.
  2. Select the position for which you want to send resource request and click Send Resource Requests.

Note: You cannot send resource requests for the following positions:

    • Requested positions
    • Fulfilled positions
    • Softbooked positions that have zero unmet demand

Though you can still select these positions to have them listed in the Send Resource Requests window, there are no check boxes in front of them. Therefore, clicking Send in the Send Resource Requests dialog box will not send resource requests for these positions.

  3. In the Resource Pool field, specify the resource pool from which to get resources.

  4. In the Response Needed field, specify the date by which a response should be made.
  5. Click Send.

The assignment requests are sent to the appropriate resource pools. See Manage resource requests for details on what happens when assignment requests are made.

  3. In the Send Resource Requests dialog box, select the check box next to each position for which you want to send an assignment request.

    Note:

    • For positions that have resource pools specified, you cannot change their resource pools in the Legacy UI.
    • Positions that do not have resource pool specified are not included in the list
  4. In the Response Needed field, specify a date by which a response should be made.

  5. Click Send.

Note: If comments for staffing profile positions exceed field limitations, the comments are automatically truncated (no warning message is displayed).
