Hardware Load Balancer, Multiple Machines
You can use a hardware load balancer as the front end of a PPM Server cluster configuration. A hardware load balancer is similar to an HTTP reverse-proxy server and forwards HTTP requests.
All PPM Servers in a server cluster must listen for HTTP requests on a unique port. Each server in the cluster must have its HTTP_PORT
parameter set to a unique value that does not conflict with other external applications. You specify this parameter value for all servers in a cluster in the @node
section of the server.conf
file.
Note: Sticky sessions are required for hardware load balancing in the OpenText PPM environment.
