View license usage

You can view license usage information, such as license capacity, consumption, and expiration date by several methods.

View license usage from PPM Workbench

The License Administration window in the PPM Workbench enables you to view the consumption of implicit features available with each installed Autopass license.

To view license usage from PPM Workbench:

  1. Select PPM Workbench > Sys Admin > License to open the License Administration window.
  2. The consumption of named licenses and concurrent licenses are displayed in separate tables.

    Named licenses
    • License: Names of the named licenses that are assigned to users.
    • Expiration Date: The date when the license expires.
    • Number Used: The consumption of the license.
    • Number Available: The remaining capacity of the license.
    • Total Charge: The total capacity of the license. Total Charge = Number Used + Number Available.
    Concurrent licenses
    • License: Names of the concurrent licenses that are assigned to users.
    • Expiration Date: The date when the license expires.
    • Number of licensed users: The number of users to whom the license is assigned.
    • Number of online users: The number of users that are currently accessing PPM.
    • Number of vacancies: The number of users that can still login PPM without exceeding the concurrent licenses limit.
    • Maximum online users allowed: The maximum number of users that can concurrently access PPM.
    Installed Extensions The installed PPM extensions, if any.

View license usage from web UI

The Licenses page enables you to view the summary of Autopass licenses installed on the PPM server, and the consumption status of PPM module licenses available with each installed Autopass license.

To view license usage from web UI:

  1. From the masthead, select Administration.
  2. From the Administration menu, select Sys Admin > Licenses.

  3. In the License type to focus on field, select the license information you want to view: Purchased Licenses, PPM Module Licenses, or License distribution chart.

    Note: The License distribution chart is not supported in IE.

  4. Expand in front of a license entry to view details.

    The following table describes the license information for each tab.

    Purchased Licenses
    • Purchased License: Full title of the Autopass license key you generated from the Licensing for Software portal.
    • Licenses #: Number of the Autopass licenses purchased.
    • Capacity: Number of users available with the Autopass license.
    • PPM Module License: A list of product modules that are available with the Autopass license.
    • Start Date: Start date of the Autopass license key.
    • End Date: End date of the Autopass license key.
    • Status (Available in 24.2 and later versions): The status of the Autopass license key.
    • Delete: Click the Delete button to uninstall a corresponding Autopass license key.
    PPM Module Licenses
    • PPM Module License: Name of the PPM module license.
    • Capacity: The total capacity of the license. It is the sum of the number used and number available.
    • # Used: The consumption of the license.
    • # Available: The remaining capacity of the license.
    • Start Date: Start date of the license.
    • End Date: End date of the license.
    • Purchased License: Name of the Autopass license key that the PPM module license comes along with.
    • Licenses #: Number of the corresponding Autopass licenses purchased.
    License distribution chart Shows the purchased license distributions among PPM modules.

View licenses usage using kLicenseReader

You can use the license reader tool to obtain the information of licenses that are installed on your machine.

To use the license reader, run the following command:
