Work Plan Options

This section explains the options available in work plan all views.

Description

Actions > Resource Usage

Opens the Resource Usage page for the work plan. It allows you to view the work load of each resource assigned to the work plan.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Actions > Create a Baseline

Creates a work plan baseline.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Actions > Import a Template

Opens the Import Work Plan Template window to select a template. The template tasks will be added above the selected task in the current work plan.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Actions > Import Another Work Plan

Imports a work plan from another project to add tasks for the current work plan.

Available in all the work plan views except the Quick view.

Actions > Add/Remove Columns

Adds or removes columns

Available in all views except the Gantt view. In the Quick view, it is the Select the Columns to Display icon.

Actions > Configure Indicator Columns

Adds indicator columns to work plan to quickly tell what a task's health is, whether it has constraints, whether it is on project critical path and so on without opening the task details.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Actions > Configure Gantt  
Actions > Delete Work Plan

Deletes the work plan.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Actions > Convert Work Plan to Template

Creates a work plan template from the current work plan.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Actions > Open Work Plan in Microsoft Project

Opens the Opening PPM_Project.mpp dialog to allow you open the current work plan in Microsoft Project.

Available in all views.

Add tasks

Adds tasks to the work plan.

Available in all views.

Copy

Paste

Creates a new task by copying and pasting an existing task.

Available in all views.

Delete tasks

Deletes selected tasks in the work plan.

Available in all views.

Edit > Task Details

Opens the Task Details page of the selected task.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Edit > Actuals

Opens the Enter Actuals page to edit the actual information of a task. It allows editing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Edit > Assignments

Opens the Resource Assignments window to edit the assignments of a task. It allows editing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Edit > Set Role

Opens the Set Role window to edit the role of a task. It allows editing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Edit > Shift Schedule

Opens the Shift Task Schedule window to shift the scheduled of a task forward or backward by any number of days. It allows editing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Edit > Link Tasks

Opens the Link Tasks window to define Finish-to-Start predecessor relationships between each of the selected tasks, in order of their sequence in the work plan.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Edit > Set Status

Opens the Set Status window to edit the status of a task. It allows editing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Export Work Plan to PDF Exports the work plan to PDF.
Export Work Plan to Microsoft Excel Exports the work plan to Excel.
External Predecessor

Opens the Task Details window to add tasks from another project as external predecessors for the selected task.

Available in all views.

Expand to: Level

Expands or collapses the work plan to a specified level from 2 to 7.

Available in all views.

Filter for

Filters the work plan for a certain set of tasks.

Available in all views except the Quick view.

Filter Hybrid Tasks

Filters the tasks that are linked with agile projects.

Available only in the Quick view.

Gantt Legend

Opens the Gantt Legend window to explain the legends in the Gantt chart of the Quick view.

Available only in the Quick view.

Indent

Outdent

Indents or outdents the selected tasks to build task relationships.

Available in all views.

Schedule Work Plan

Opens the Schedule Work Plan window to run the scheduling.

Available in all views.

Schedule Summary Task

Opens the Schedule Summary Task window to run the scheduling.

Available in all views.

Uploading Work Plan from Microsoft Excel

Uploads tasks from Microsoft Excel to the PPM project work plan.

Available only in the Quick view.

View

Switches the work plan to the selected view.
