Issue Health Policy
While a project is in progress, any number of issues may come up that need to be submitted and resolved using the project issue request. The real-time status of a project in terms of the issues submitted against it is represented by the issue health indicator.
The Issue Health policy controls:
- Whether issue health is tracked for a project.
-
The weight of each issue priority.
-
The total weight needed to change issue health indicator color.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Allow project managers to override these settings? | Whether or not project managers can edit this policy in their projects. |
Track issue health for this project | Whether or not issue health is tracked for the project. |
Priority, Weight |
Specify the weight of each issue priority. Note: The issue priorities that appear in this policy are determined by the validation for the Priority field in the project issue request details page, which is extensible. |
The project's issue health is when the weights of all open issues total at least: | Specify a minimal weight for yellow issue health indicator. |
The project's issue health is when the weights of all open issues total at least: | Specify a minimal weight for red issue health indicator. |
Example: Suppose that you have assigned weights to the issue priorities for the project as follows:
-
Critical: 8
-
High priority: 5
-
Medium priority: 3
-
Low priority: 1
Suppose your project has the following issues:
-
3 high priority issues
-
2 medium priority issues
The overall health value computed for these project issues is (3 * 5 + 2 * 3), or 21.
If the threshold value for the yellow health indicator is 20, and the threshold value for the red health indicator is 40, then the issue health indicator for this project is yellow.
