APM features and components

The standard user interface for APM is a collection of specialized Web pages in PPM that offer you a customized view into APM. You use these Web pages to perform the tasks that you are responsible for as an analyst.

APM features available for analysts include the following:

• APM-specific entities. See Manage APM entities and Entities.

• APM reports. See Reports and Reports.

• The PPM Data Migrator for Microsoft Excel (for importing, exporting, and updating entity data and for exporting and updating validation values in APM). See Using the PPM Data Migrator for Microsoft Excel.

• Dynamic graphing (for viewing graphical relationships between applications and between processes). See Dynamic graphing.

• Surveys (for collecting rating information from application users) and other options for requesting additional information. See Surveys and Additional Application Data Collection.

APM components available for analysts include the following:

• APM-specific pages that the analyst accesses from the following Application Portfolio Management menu item:

  • Application Portfolio Management > Create Entities. Opens the Create New Entity page, where you can create APM entities of all types.
  • Application Portfolio Management > Search Entities. Opens the Search Entities page, where you can search for and open APM entities of all types, such as applications, survey requests, transformational proposals.

• The Browse Entities page—the preliminary page in the Request Browser from which you can group entities for data analysis. For more information, see Request Browser.
