Viewing License Usage

PPM provides several methods for you to view the license usage information, including license capacity, consumption, and expiration date.

View license usage from PPM Workbench

The License Administration window in the PPM Workbench provides consumption status of implicit features available with each installed Autopass license.

  1. Open PPM Workbench > Sys Admin > License.

  2. The consumption of named licenses and concurrent licenses are displayed in separate tables.

    For named licenses
    • License: Names of the named licenses that are assigned to users.
    • Expiration Date: The date when the license expires
    • Number Used: The consumption of the license
    • Number Available: The remaining capacity of the license
    • Total Charge: The total capacity of the license. Total Charge = Number Used + Number Available.
    For concurrent licenses
    • License: Names of the concurrent licenses that are assigned to users.
    • Expiration Date: The date when the license expires
    • Number of licensed users: The number of users to whom the license is assigned
    • Number of online users: The number of users that are currently accessing PPM
    • Number of vacancies: The number of users that can still login PPM without exceeding the concurrent licenses limit.
    • Maximum online users allowed: The maximum number of users that can concurrently access PPM
    Installed Extensions The installed PPM extensions, if any.

View license usage from Administration Console

You can view a summary of Autopass licenses that you purchased and installed on the PPM Server from the Administration Console window.

  1. From the menu bar, select Open > Administration > Open Administration Console.

  2. In the navigation pane, select Administration Task > License.

    The View History section displays a summary of all Autopass licenses installed on the PPM Server that are valid for use. Only activated licenses are shown in the View History section.

  3. Expand the plus sign in front a license entry to view details.

    The following table describes columns in the View History table:

    Column Description
    License

    Full title of the Autopass license key you generated from the Micro Focus Licensing for Software portal
    Product Feature

    A list of product features that are available with the Autopass license
    Capacity

    Number of users available with the Autopass license
    Start Date

    Start date of an Autopass license key
    End Date End date of an Autopass license key

    Delete

    		Click the Delete button to uninstall a corresponding Autopass license key

View licenses usage information using kLicenseReader

You can use the license reader tool to obtain the information of licenses that are installed on your machine.

To use the license reader, you should run the following command:

kLicenseReader.sh [-filename <Autopass_License_File_Name>] [-filepath <Autopass_License_File_Path>] [-help]
