Application data planning is working with the APM analyst to determine the type of data being collected about an application and how that data maps to the existing application entity fields. When necessary, you can modify existing application entity fields or create new application entity fields for the analyst.
You should also work with the analyst to collect data for users who will fulfill a role in the application analysis process. These are users who are active users of APM or serve as points of reference for other APM entities. Required data for users include a username, first name, last name, password, and user type (user, analyst, or administrator, to determine license requirements and the security groups to which the user belongs). You need to define and create these users in Project and Portfolio Management Center (PPM) before the APM user or analyst starts to add/import application data.
