Create Dimensions CM requests

You can create Dimensions CM requests in a backlog. To add a request based on the details of an existing Dimensions CM request, you can prime a request.

Note: Dimensions CM privileges, attribute update rules, and other process restrictions may apply.

Create a request

You can add new Dimensions CM requests to a backlog.

To create a request:

  1. From the spaces list at the top right, select a space.

  2. On the Products page, open the product where you want to create a request.

  3. In the sidebar, select Backlogs.

  4. Open the backlog where you want to add the request. Optionally, select the epic or feature to contain the request.

  5. Click New and select a request type, for example, ECR.
  6. In the General tab, specify the following information:

    • Give the request a title and summarize its purpose.

    • For Acceptance Criteria specify the criteria to be met before the request is considered to be complete.

    • For Story Points estimate the total number of points required to complete the work, and the points remaining until finishing. Story points are an estimation of a request’s relative complexity compared to other requests, and the effort required to complete it.

    • (Optional) Relate the new request to a stream and design part.

  7. Select the Attributes tab and specify attribute values. Each request type has different attributes, some of which may be required. The attributes are the same as those in the Dimensions CM clients.

Only the attributes that you have the privilege to edit are displayed. The displayed fields depend on the request type and how it has been customized by a Dimensions CM administrator.

Tip: You can hide read-only attributes.

  8. Click Save.

Note: The request on which you are basing the new request must have a priming relationship. For details, see the Dimensions CM Administration Console online help.

To create a request from an existing request:

  1. From the spaces list at the top right, select a space.

  2. On the Products page, open the product containing the relevant request.

  3. In the sidebar, select Request Catalog.

  4. Open the request that you want to prime.
  5. Click Prime To and select a request type.
  6. Select a relationship type, for example, Duplicate.
  7. Click Prime.
