Action Dimensions CM requests

You can action Dimensions CM requests to a new lifecycle state if the request is in your inbox or if you are a Dimensions CM administrator.

You can action to the Approved state only when all the related reviews are approved.

Action requests from backlog or iteration

When actioning a request, normal Dimensions CM roles and privileges apply.

To action a request from a backlog or iteration:

  1. In a backlog or iteration, open the Dimensions CM request you want to action.

  2. Click Action To and select a lifecycle state from the list. The Action Request dialog box opens.

  3. (Optional) In the General tab, modify the total and remaining story points.

  4. (Optional) In the Owners tab, click Add to add users who become owners of the request after it is actioned:

    Field Description
    Role to assign Select the role to assign to the new owners, for example, Developer.
    Capability of users

    Select a capability for the users:

    • Leader: Sole responsibility for the request.
    • Primary: Primary responsibility for the request.
    • Secondary: Acts as a backup to the primary role.
    Users to assign Search for usernames to select one or more users.

    Click Add.

  5. If required, provide additional details in the Attributes tab.

  6. Click Action.

Action requests from card wall

When viewing the card wall, you can action requests if you have the appropriate privileges.

For details about a card wall, see Use the card wall.

To action a request from a card wall:

  1. On the top navigation bar, select a space from the spaces list.

  2. On the Products page, open a product.

  3. On the sidebar, select Iterations or Issues > Iterations, and open the iteration containing the request you want to action.
  4. Select the Card Wall tab.
  5. Drag a request to another lifecycle column. The Action Request dialog box is displayed.

    When you action a request, you may need to provide additional details in the Attributes tab, some of which may be required.

  6. (Optional) In the Owners tab, select the user to become the request owner after the request is actioned.
  7. Click Action. The request’s state moves to the next lifecycle column on the card wall.

Delegate requests

Delegate a Dimensions CM request to assign it to other users. When delegating a request, you can change the role assignments and capabilities for it.

To delegate a request:

  1. On the top navigation bar, select a space from the spaces list.

  2. On the Products page, open a product.

  3. On the sidebar, select Request Catalog or Issues > Catalog, and open a request from the list.
  4. In the General tab, in the Owners section, click Add .
  5. Select users and assign them a role:

    Field Description
    Role to assign Select the role to be delegated to the users.
    Capability of users

    Select a capability for the users:

    • Leader: Sole responsibility for the request.
    • Primary: Primary responsibility for the request.
    • Secondary: Acts as a backup to the primary role.

  6. Click Add.
