Select Application Dialog Box

This dialog box enables you to define or select the application that your test will use. You can also add, edit, or delete existing applications.

To access

Do the following:

  1. Enter Plan mode.

  2. Open or create a new test or business component.

  3. Select the Steps tab.

  4. Expand the Steps Capture button and choose Select Application from the drop-down.

Important information

For mobile applications, the details sections shows the following fields:

  • Application: The startup app.
  • Application Settings: The settings applicable to all apps. The one exception is the Restart option which only applies to the startup app.
  • Installed Apps: Other apps selected via the Mobile Center wizard.
  • Device Metrics: The metrics to be collected during the test run, as selected via the Mobile Center wizard.
  • Device: The mobile device selected for the test.
  • Network Virtualization: The network virtualization profile to use.

UI Elements

Description

Opens the Quick Add Application Dialog Box, enabling you to add an application to your application list from a list of currently running applications. This is only available for ALM and UFT licensed users.

Opens the Add/Edit Application Dialog Box, enabling you to manually define a new application to add to your application list.

Opens the Add/Edit Application Dialog Box, enabling you to edit the application details for the selected application in the application list.

Removes the selected application from the application list. For Mobile Center apps, the button drop down offers the following options:

  • Remove. Remove the selected app.
  • Remove Generated. Remove the apps that were automatically generated for each ALM test instance (when ALM is configured to work with Mobile Center).
  • Remove All. Delete all apps from the Application list.
Application

The list of available applications. Use the Add, Quick Add, Edit, and Remove buttons to manage the list of applications.

To use a previously defined application, enter the first character of the name and then select it from the displayed list.

Application details area

Displays information about the application you selected in the Application list. Click the Edit button to open the Add/Edit Application Dialog Box and edit these details.

For mobile applications, this section shows the following fields:

  • Application: The startup app.
