Applications tab

In the Applications tab, you to define or select the application to use for your test. You can also add, edit, or delete existing applications.

To access
  1. Enter Plan mode.

  2. Open or create a new test or business component.

  3. Select the Steps tab.

  4. Expand the Steps Capture button and choose Application Settings from the drop-down.
  5. If there are not apps already defined, click Add.

Description

Add

Adds a new application to the Applications list.

The drop-down options are Add which allows you to manually specify any application or browser, and Quick Add which adds one of the currently running applications.

Remove

Removes the selected application from the application list. For OpenText Functional Testing Lab apps, the button drop down offers the following options:

  • Remove. Removes the selected app.
  • Remove Generated. Removes the apps that were automatically generated for each OpenText Application Quality Management test instance (when OpenText Application Quality Management is configured to work with OpenText Functional Testing Lab).
  • Remove All. Deletes all apps from the Application list.
Application

The list of available applications. Use the Add, Quick Add, Edit, and Remove buttons to manage the list of applications.

To use a previously defined application, enter the first character of the name and then select it from the displayed list.

Application details area

Displays information about the application you selected in the Application list. Click the Edit button to open the Add/Edit Application dialog box and edit these details.

For mobile applications, this section shows the Select App and SapGUI fields.

  • Application: The startup app.
  • Settings: The settings applicable to all apps, except for the Restart option which only applies to the startup app.
  • Installed Apps: Other apps selected via the OpenText Functional Testing Lab wizard.
  • Device Metrics: The metrics to be collected during the test run, as selected via the OpenText Functional Testing Lab wizard.
  • Device: The mobile device selected for the test.
