LoadRunner Cloud licensing

To run load tests using LoadRunner Cloud, you must purchase a LoadRunner Cloud license.

Purchase a LoadRunner Cloud license

A LoadRunner Cloud license is made of both a run type and a variety of Vuser types. You can purchase a combination of run types and Vuser types to meet your team's needs.

LoadRunner Cloud license run types available for purchase

License Description

Vusers (VU)

  • A fixed license enabling you to run any Vuser type.

LoadRunner Cloud license consumption

If the number of licenses configured in a test exceeds the number of available licenses for that type, LoadRunner Cloud will automatically use another existing license bundle. View your cart to see the estimated license usage before you run the test.

Virtual user hour (VUH) licenses

VUH licenses enable you to run Vusers by the hour. 1 VUH is effectively 1 Vuser running a load test for 1 hour.

Purchase a VUH license

VUH licenses are purchasable online, or through your Customer Service representative.

To purchase VUH licenses that meet your testing needs:

  1. Navigate to the LoadRunner Cloud Pricing page in SaaS.
  2. Under Virtual User Hours, click Build package.
  3. Select the Vuser type and the amount of Vuser hours needed.

How much will it cost to run my test using VUH?

As you are creating your test definition, the cart will display the number of VUH required to run your test.

The number of VUH is calculated by the following formula rounding up to the nearest whole VUH:

(Vusers * [Ramp up time + Test duration + Tear down time]in seconds)/3600)

Examples:

Vusers Ramp up Duration Tear down  Vusers * Total test time  Total VUH
1 00:05:00 00:40:00 00:05:00 1 * 50 minutes 1
10 00:10:00 00:40:00 00:10:00

10 * 60 minutes

10 00:10:00 00:10:00 00:10:00 10 * 30 minutes 5
