Service Virtualization at a glance

Service Virtualization provides a framework for creating virtual services for testing your applications, especially when real services are limited or unavailable. This lets you simulate a wide variety of situations and application behavior that you might otherwise not be able to test.

Start page

The Start page contains the Welcome, Get Started, and Sample tabs.

Welcome page

The Welcome tab provides links to videos about Service Virtualization.



Get Started

The Get Started tab lists several sample projects, that allow you to explore Service Virtualization. For details, see Get Started Page.



Sample projects

The Sample projects tab lets you select a task in order to begin designing your virtual service. For details, see Sample Projects Page.

Virtualization Explorer

The Virtualization Explorer gives you access to all the components of your virtualization project.

Virtual Services Editor

The Virtual Service editor is where you configure you virtual service.



Virtual service models

In this section, you select the virtual service's model type: Data model or Performance model.



Simulation Models

In this section, you manage the simulation models in order to control the data and improve performance.



Runtime view

This view lets you see the service's activity during learning or simulation.



Problem list

This tab shows the errors and warnings that occur during an application run.

Service Virtual Designer options

In the Options dialog box, you set the General, Agents, Servers, and Early access options.

General

The General options let you set the display language and the default location.



Agents

The Agents options let you select a Service Virtualization agent for your virtual service.



Servers

The Servers options let you manage your Service Virtualization servers.



Early Access

The Early Access options let you enable the early access features, allowing you to try out these new experimental features.
