Get Started with Service Virtualization Management

This task describes how to start working with the Service Virtualization Management interface.

Prerequisites

  • To log in to Service Virtualization Management, you must be a member of the SVM Users group on the Service Virtualization Server machine. For details, see Manage permissions.

  • Make sure you are using a supported browser. For the most up-to-date list of supported browsers and versions, refer to the Support Matrix.

  • Make sure that the Service Virtualization Server is running.

Start/stop the SV Management service on Windows

  1. On the Service Virtualization Server machine, from the Windows Start menu, access Start Services of Service Virtualization Server.

    This option starts both the Service Virtualization Server service and the Service Virtualization Management service.

  2. To stop the service, from the Windows Start menu, access Stop Services of Service Virtualization Server.

    This option stops both the Service Virtualization Server service and the Service Virtualization Management service.

Start/stop the SV Management service on Linux

On the Linux Service Virtualization Server machine, run the appropriate commands.

Service Virtualization Management service
To: Installed as a service Run from command line
Start the service:

systemctl start sv-svm

sv-ServiceVirtualizationManager

Stop the service:

systemctl stop sv-svm

Press Enter or Ctrl-C

Open SV Management

Open a browser window and enter one of the following URLs:

Service Virtualization Management

https://<Service Virtualization Server IP or hostname>:<Service Virtualization Management port>

By default, the Service Virtualization Management port is 6086.
Service Virtualization Server <Service Virtualization Server IP or hostname>:<HTTP/HTTPS port number>/management

Troubleshoot

If an issue arises, review the web server and proxy logs, located in:

Windows %ProgramData%\Micro Focus\Service Virtualization Server\logs
Linux

For RPM: /opt/microfocus/sv-server/logs

For TAR: /installation/directory/sv-server-VERSION/logs
