Get Started with Service Virtualization Management

This task describes how to start working with the Service Virtualization Management interface.

Prerequisites

  • To log in to Service Virtualization Management, you must be a member of the SVM Users group on the Service Virtualization Server machine. For details on the Service Virtualization user groups, see the Service Virtualization Installation Guide.

  • Make sure you are using a supported browser. For details, see the Service Virtualization Installation Guide.

    Note: For the most up-to-date list of supported browsers and versions, refer to the support matrix on the Software Support site at: https://softwaresupport.softwaregrp.com/group/softwaresupport/support-matrices.

  • Make sure that the Service Virtualization Server is running.

Start/stop the SV Management service on Windows

  1. On the Service Virtualization Server machine, from the Windows Start menu, select All Programs > Micro Focus > Start Services of Service Virtualization Server.

    This option starts both the Service Virtualization Server service and the Service Virtualization Management service.

  2. To stop the service, from the Windows Start menu, select All Programs > Micro Focus > Stop Services of Service Virtualization Server.

    This option stops both the Service Virtualization Server service and the Service Virtualization Management service.

Start/stop the SV Management service on Linux

This section only applies to a Linux installation, which is part of the Early Access Features. On the Linux Service Virtualization Server machine, run the appropriate commands.

Service Virtualization Management service
To: Oracle Linux 6 (initd) Oracle Linux 7 (systemd)
Start the service:

service sv-svm start

service nginx start

systemctl start sv-svm

systemctl start nginx

Stop the service:

service sv-svm stop

service nginx stop

systemctl stop sv-svm

systemctl stop nginx

Open SV Management

Open a browser window and enter one of the following URLs:

Service Virtualization Management

https://<Service Virtualization Server IP or hostname>:<Service Virtualization Management port>

By default, the Service Virtualization Management port is 6086.

Service Virtualization Server <Service Virtualization Server IP or hostname>:<HTTP/HTTPS port number>/management

Troubleshoot

If an issue arises, review the web server and proxy logs, located in:
