Enable the Functional Testing Agent for Mozilla Firefox

UFT communicates with the Functional Testing Agent Firefox Extension to test Web applications running in Mozilla Firefox. This extension is part of the UFT installation and by default is automatically loaded when opening Firefox for the first time.

Loading the Firefox Agent depends on the version of Firefox you are testing.

Firefox versions 57 and later

If the Select Your Add-ons screen
is displayed when opening Firefox
Select to enable the Functional Testing Extension.
If the Install Add-on tab
opens when opening Firefox,

Select to Allow this installation.

If no screen or tab is automatically displayed when opening Firefox

  1. In Firefox, open the browser menu.

  2. In the menu, click Add-ons.

  3. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions node.

  4. In the Functional Testing Extension row, click the Enable button.

If the extension cannot be found in Firefox
  1. Open the <UFT installation folder>\Installations\Firefox folder.
  2. Drag the WebExtension.xpi file into Firefox.

Firefox versions 56 and earlier

  1. Open the <UFT installation folder>\Installations\Firefox folder, and drag one of the following files into Firefox:

    Firefox versions 38-56 Agent.xpi
    Firefox versions 33-37 AgentCFX.xpi
    Firefox versions earlier than 33 AgentLegacy.xpi
  2. In Firefox, open the browser menu, click Add-ons, and select the Extensions node.

  3. In the Functional Testing Extension row, disable the Functional Testing extension and enable the extension you added to Firefox.
