This topic describes how to determine global UFT run settings.
Access the Run Sessions pane
Select Tools > Options > General tab > Run Sessions node.
User interface elements
Use the Run Sessions pane to do the following:
- View results when run session ends
- Define your report format
- Automatically export your run results
- Define a shortcut key to stop the record or run session
- Enable continued testing on locked/disconnected remote computers
Enables UFT to automatically display your run results when the run session completes.
Select the type of report you want UFT to generate.
UFT supports the following types of reports:
Open these in any browser.
UFT 14.51 and higher: If you select this option, also define where you want UFT to display the report by default.
Note: Opening results in the default browser may have unexpected display issues.
Opening results in UFT provides a consistent display, but may have performance issues when working with very large files.
Open these using UFT's Run Results Viewer. For more details, see Using the Run Results Viewer.
Enables you to automatically export your run results, either to an HTML file, or PDF. Select the Automatically export run results when run session ends option.
Supported in UFT versions 14.51 and higher
If you are generating HTML reports, your report is generated as HTML, and also exported to PDF.
Access the PDF in the same folder as the generated run results.
If you are generating Run Results Viewer reports, UFT supports additional options, including multiple report types, locations, and data combinations.
Click the Configure button to define those options. For more details, see Configure Automatic Export of Run Results Dialog Box.
Note: If the Run Results Viewer is not installed, run results are not exported.
An error message is displayed at the end of the run session to notify you about this.
Enables you to define a shortcut key or key combination that stops the current record or run session, even if UFT is not in focus, or is in hidden mode.
To modify the default, click inside the field, and then press the new key or key combination on your keyboard.
Note: Make sure you use a keyboard shortcut that is not already used for another operation.
If the selected shortcut is used for another operation, it will only work if the application you are testing was opened automatically by UFT, as defined in the Record or Run Settings dialog.
Enables GUI or business process tests in UFT to continue running on a remote computer when a Remote Desktop Connection session is disconnected, or when the screen of the remote computer is locked.
Logging out of the remote computer is not supported, only disconnecting the session, or locking the screen.
Enter the following information for the user accessing the remote computer running UFT:
|User Name:||The Remote Desktop connection user name of the user connecting to the remote computer running UFT, using the format <domain>\<user Name>|
|Password||The Remote Desktop Connection password for the user connecting to the remote computer running UFT|
Scroll down and click Check Connection to validate the user name and password.
Note: Running a test with a disconnected Remote Desktop connection is not supported for the Hyper V virtualization server.
The Restore Factory Defaults button resets all Options dialog box options to their defaults.
