Remote Connection Pane (Options Dialog Box > GUI Testing Tab)

Relevant for: GUI tests and components

This pane enables you to define options that control the security of UFT One's communications over remote connections. This is relevant when setting up a remote connection to a Mac computer during a run session, or when using the Remote Connection option (available when you click the ALM Connection down arrow in the UFT One toolbar).

The settings in this pane must match the preferences defined for the UFT Connection Agent on the Mac computer.

To access

Select Tools > Options > GUI Testing tab > Remote Connection node.

UI Element

Description

Passphrase

The passphrase to use for authentication when initiating a remote connection to the Mac computer.

  • This string must match the passphrase defined in the UFT Connection Agent preferences on the Mac computer.
  • The passphrase can be empty, but a long and complicated passphrase provides better security.
SSL CA certificate file

The path to the CA certificate to use to validate the SSL certificate file received from the UFT Connection Agent after initiating a remote connection to the Mac computer.

  • The CA certificate file must be accessible to UFT One when it sets up the connection.
  • Certificate bundles are also supported.
  • The CA certificate file is only relevant if SSL is used for the remote connection. This is specified when the connection is initiated by selecting the Use SSL option, available when you configure the remote connection.

The SSL certificate file and its SSL private key must be specified in the UFT Connection Agent preferences on the Mac computer.
