General Tab (Properties Pane - API Testing)

This tab displays general information about the selected test step.

To access

  1. Open the Properties pane.

  2. Select any step in the canvas.

  3. In the Properties Pane, select the General tab .

The General tab's user interface elements are described below. The properties differ based on the activity type.

UI Element

Description
Comment

An editable note describing the purpose of the step. UFT One also places the comment in the test report.

Properties - default

  • Step ID. A unique ID for the step.

  • Name. Step name as it should appear in the canvas.
Properties - Micro Focus Automated Testing Tools

  • Test path. The path of the API or GUI test or VuGen script (LoadRunner Professional's Virtual User Generator) to run.

  • Action name. The name of the action in the test (not relevant for Virtual User Generator scripts).

  • Description. A description of the step.

  • Result directory. The path of the results relative to the solution directory (For Call API Action or Test only).
Properties - Network

When the following properties are defined, run results with the request/response body are saved in the <Results>\Report\Data folder:

  • Extension type for saved request body

  • Extension type for saved response body
