Select Learn Mode Dialog Box

This dialog box enables you to specify which learning mode to use when adding an Insight or Text test object to the object repository.

• When using the automatic mode, you click on the control in the application and UFT One automatically determines the borders of the control or text.
• When using the manual mode, you draw a rectangle around the control or text in the application, specifying the borders of the control or text.

In both cases, UFT One takes a snapshot of the control or text within the application and the Add Insight Test Object or Add Text Test Object dialog box opens, enabling you to adjust the image that will be used for the new test object.

When you click Save, the test object is created and the image is saved in the test object.

• For an Insight test object, the image is used to identify the control in the application.
• For a Text test object, UFT One uses OCR to extract the text from the image and save it in the test object. The text is then used to identify the relevant text in the application.

Do one of the following: In the Object Repository Window, click Add Insight Object to Local or Add Text Object to Local . In the Object Repository Manager Main Window, click Add Insight Object or Add Text Object . Note: To display the Select Learn Mode dialog box if it does not open when you click these buttons, select Tools > Options > GUITesting tab > Insight node and then select Display Select Learn Mode dialog box.

User interface elements are described below:

UI Elements	Description
Automatic	Hides UFT One and the Object Repository window or Object Repository Manager, and changes the pointer into a pointing hand, enabling you to click on the control or text that you want to learn in the application.
Manual	Hides UFT One and the Object Repository window or Object Repository Manager, and changes the pointer into a crosshair that you can use to draw a rectangle around the control or text that you want to learn in the application. To help you accurately draw the borders of the control or text, a magnified view of the mouse location on the screen is displayed in a circle near the crosshair.
Do not show me again	Instructs UFT One not to display this dialog box in the future, when adding Insight objects to an object repository, but to use the learning mode that you select this time. To display the Select Learn Mode dialog box again: Select Tools > Options > GUI Testing tab > Insight node and then select Display Select Learn Mode dialog box.
